The All New 2014 Corvette Stingray

Only a Corvette with the perfect balance of technology, design and performance can wear the iconic Stingray designation. The new 2014 Corvette Stingray meets all those requirements and more. According to the National Corvette Museum's website, "The 2014 Corvette Stingray is the most powerful standard model ever, with an estimated 450 horsepower (335 kW) and 450 lb.-ft. of torque (610 Nm). It is also the most capable standard model ever, able to accelerate from 0-60 in less than four seconds and achieve more than 1g in cornering grip. It is expected to be the most fuel-efficient Corvette, exceeding the EPA-estimated 26 mpg of the current model. The all-new Corvette Stingray shares only two parts with the previous generation Corvette. It incorporates an all-new frame structure and chassis, a new powertrain and supporting technologies, as well as completely new exterior and interior designs.".

The new Stingray has turned heads at Motor Trend with its sleek new interior featuring heated seats, touch screen integrated with a Corvette-specific version of Chevy's MyLink technology, and a buffet of other posh trim level features and options. A highly detailed and sporty dashboard brings complete mastery of the new Stingray's engine re-designs to the driver's fingertips, wrapped up in refinery and control. Motor Trend says, "Read any review of the Corvette and you'll see the same list of compliments and complaints: great performance, terrible interior, or some variation thereof. The Corvette team has an answer to that, and it's called the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray...". And it's a pretty bold answer at that!

Outside the updates continue. The radical new bodywork is jet-inspired and race-tested. Every scoop and vent you see is functional, much of it borrowed from Corvette Racing. The hood vent, for example, ducts roughly a third of flow from the now forward-slanted radiator over the top of the car.

If you want to get the ultimate feeling of piloting a speed legend, climb into the seat of a new 2014 Corvette Stingray and you will be satisfied. It offers a minimum of 455 horsepower (460 horses if you opt for the performance exhaust) and 460 (or 465) pound-feet of torque from the new 6.2-liter LT1 V-8 engine. Those are hefty figures in a vehicle that weights just 3,300 pounds. The result is 0-60 mph acceleration in just 3.8 seconds when equipped with the Z51 package. A seven-speed manual transmission is standard, with a six-speed automatic available.
